Chicago

It was pretty cloudy and raining while we were in Chicago.  It let up enough for us to walk along the Navy Pier.

Brigham City Temple

While on my way to Logan recently, I made a quick stop and got this shot of the new temple in Brigham City.

Delicate Arch

I got up early one morning and went to Arches National Park.  I made the hike to Delicate Arch and arrived at sunrise.

Essenhaus Inn

While in Indiana recently, we stayed at the Essenhaus Inn in Middlebury.  It's got an Amish style restaurant and a bunch of shops like this one.

Notre Dame Stadium

I made it out to South Bend last week to watch the Cougars play the Irish.  They almost pulled off the upset, but came up a bit short at the end.

While in Bath, England, we visited the Roman Baths.  Here, a Roman Soldier watches over the bath below.  Doesn't that look refreshing?

I came across this teepee on the shore of Deer Creek Reservoir with Mt. Timpanogos off in the distance.

Windsor Castle

We took a tour of the Windsor Castle on a day Her Majesty The Queen was there.  We were expecting her to come out and chat with us, but for some reason, we never saw her.  We did get to see the changing of the guard while we were there.

Joseph Smith Birthplace

While on a business trip to New Hampshire, I was able to go visit the monument at the Joseph Smith birthplace in Sharon, Vermont.

Chelsea Football Club

While in England, were staying close to Stamford Bridge stadium so we caught a football (soccer) game while we were there.  We watched Chelsea beat Wigan in extended time.  It was an exciting finish.  Here is a shot of the stadium.

This is a neat castle we visited in Kent, England.  The castle sits on a island in the middle of a lake.

To help celebrate Independence Day, here is a statue of George Washington in Boston Common.

Old Vicksburg Court House

While in Mississippi last month, I took a tour of Vicksburg where I was staying.  The town is small enough that I think I saw everything at least twice in about an hour.  Even though it was small, it had some neat old buildings and some Civil War history that was interesting.  Here is a picture of the Old Vicksburg Court House.  There is a new one right across the street.

Pulteney Bridge

Here is a shot of the Pulteney Bridge in Bath, England.  The bridge spans the River Avon and is lined with shops on both sides.  Lucky for me, Megan was not with me when I took this shot, or I would have visited all of the shops.

Boston Temple

While in Boston several weeks ago, I was able to stop and see the temple there.  I couldn't decide which shot I like better, so here are both of them.

Paris

On a recent trip to Boston, I was able to catch a Red Sox game.  Fenway Park was celebrating its 100-year anniversary.

The Queen's Hamlet

While visiting Versailles, we made our way through the gaudy palace and gardens with all the fountains until we arrived at the Queen's Hamlet (Marie Antoinette).  Megan fell in love with the grounds and all the surrounding cottages.  I also thought they were pretty cool, so here are are few shots of what we found.

The Louvre

While trying to find my way out of the Louvre, I noticed this view of the pyramid in courtyard.  I took a quick shot from the window not knowing how it would turn out.  I think it came out pretty nice.

Canterbury Cathedral

We made the pilgrimage to Canterbury to visit the cathedral.

High Jump

I captured this shot of Josh high jumping with his teammates looking on.  It was from an angle that I never tried before and I think it turned out pretty good.  Josh jumped pretty good too.

Cambridge

While in England we spent a day in Cambridge walking around the different colleges and along the Cam. I learned that Cambridge got its name from the many bridges that cross the Cam River.

Eiffel Tower

After a couple of days in London, we took the train through the chunnel to Paris for a few days.  Our first day was spent in the line to go to the top of the Eiffel Tower.  One of the lifts was broken, so the line was extra long.

Big Ben

Megan and I just returned from our European vacation.  We saw tons of sites and had great fun.  Our first stop was in London.

Natural History Museum

We made a visit to the new Natural History Museum in Salt Lake City last weekend.  Personally, I was more interested in the building than the exhibits, but both turned out to be very nice and the kids had a good time.

City Creek Center

Megan convinced me to go to the new City Creek Center that opened this week in Salt Lake City.  It was not the place to be if you don't like crowds.  The Center itself is very cool.  I took my camera along to take some pictures while we wandered around.  This one is of the sky bridge over Main St.
